Martin Kaymer, Sergio Garcia, Ricardo Santos and Marcus Fraser all performed with equal prowess and grabbed the lead spot after the second round of Qatar Masters. Garcia hit six birdies and got the nine-under par mark while Martin shot 67 and went on to share the same spot. Garcia had 66 and it was pretty awesome because he had lately undergone an eye surgery the previous year to fix his astigmatism problems and had finished the game with style.

Martin was previously three shots behind Garcia but he played a short and speedy game starting off with a couple of two birdies and took the lead. The former 2010 US PGA Champion Martin Kaymer was quite confident with his shots and the weather at the golf course at Qatar went in his favor so well from the very beginning that there stood no risk for him for the next two rounds. Alongside Kaymer and Garcia also was the world number 58 Marcus Fraser who is also winner on the European Tour for two times consecutively, who gave a brilliant nine birdies and collected his required nine under par to go to the lead-league.

It is no surprising why Martin Kaymer is number one currently after looking closely at his performance at the Qatar Masters. Like Tom Lewis, he has also seen success in his professional career while in his twenties. Kaymer has received the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award for being the highest-ranked amateur at the hardest masters, The Volvo Masters in the year 2007. He stands to be the first German to have won the award. Ever since then he has never looked back be it Abu Dhabi Golf Championship or the Dubai Desert Classic where he had finished second. He now enjoys being the topper of the Golf.
